Open MCP Settings

Click the MCPs icon in the Cascade panel, or go to Windsurf Settings → Cascade → MCP Servers, and open the raw config file (~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json).

Add Configuration

Add Danube to the config. Note that Windsurf uses serverUrl (not url) for remote servers:

Refresh Servers

Click Refresh in the MCPs panel (or restart Windsurf) to load the new configuration.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the key is serverUrl, not url — Windsurf ignores url entries for remote servers
  • Ensure you have the latest version of Windsurf
  • Verify the config file is valid JSON: ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json
  • Verify your API key is correct and the header name is exactly danube-api-key (lowercase)
  • Check the server is reachable: curl https://mcp.danubeai.com/health
  • Check firewall/VPN settings
